About Us

The Beginning

Charity begins at home’ so goes a famous saying. True to this spirit, a group of socially conscious residents of Suncity Parikrama society Panchkula, led by Mrs Puja Aggarwal, realized that the growing menace of Plastic Pollution, specifically ‘single use polythene’ has reached such gigantic proportions that in case it is not checked on war footing basis, it will push already Sick Mother Earth to its untimely Death. We shall only be held responsible for this irretrievable position by our next generations since Planet Earth will no longer remain habitable for them. 
 With a Vision of getting rid from the slavery of this self-inflicted agony of plastic pollution, a campaign in right earnest was started on 22nd March’ 2023, start of Hindu Nav Varsh.
The small beginning is becoming a mass movement. Strength of members has fast increased to more than 100 members and around 500 direct/indirect supporters.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple yet profound: to raise awareness about the devastating impact of plastic pollution and empower individuals, communities, and businesses to take action. We believe that by educating, advocating, and inspiring change, we can together create a more sustainable and harmonious world. 
Why Plastic-Free?
Plastic pollution has reached critical levels, affecting our oceans, wildlife, and even our health. It’s a global crisis that demands immediate attention and action. By choosing to be plastic-free, we can:

🌍 Reduce Carbon Footprint: The production and disposal of plastic contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Choosing sustainable alternatives reduces our carbon footprint.

Hazards of SUP (Single Use Polythene)
  1. Takes more than 400 years to decompose.
  2. During period of decomposition, emits micro/nano particles to air, soil and water.
  3. Through plants, animals, water, air enters human food chain spreading cancer.
  4. Chokes sewer drains, rivers, seas. Produces mounds of cancerous garbage around cities.
  5. Mount Everest to Marina Trench of sea is within its reach, impacting Hills and Marine life.

Demand reduction
  • Remove/Refuse – To reduce demand by buyers
  • Reduce/Replace – By providing alternatives to vendors
  • Reuse – By proving reusable eco friendly bags
  • Recycle – By segregation of wastes to retrieve recyclable stuff from garbage
